Photo Exhibition and Video

The Philadelphia Folklore Project (PFP) occasionally presents a photo exhibition, Plenty of Good Women Dancers: African American Women Hoofers from Philadelphia, featuring Phila.'s women tap dancers of the '30s through '50s. A documentary video on the women ran locally from October 1996 to March 1997. Contact the PFP for more information. Visit the event page describing the exhibition.

Road Trips

By the way, if you are a Phila. area tap fan and want to catch a show or workshop in New York City, Boston or Washington, D.C. posted in the Tap Dance Calendar, browse the travel resource links on the Getting Around page.

An impressive performance hall. Great architecture and a nicely landscaped campus with mature trees just outside Philadelphia. Villanova University is "down the block." I saw The American Tap Dance Orchestra here in 1991.
